Abstract

The variety of epigraphic texts in which Iberian personal names are documented, along with their remarkable territorial and chronological scope, make it possible to observe in this anthroponymic system a certain internal variation motivated by different causes: phonetic, morphological, diachronic or diatopic, as well as social and cultural. In this work, significant examples are used to reflect on the phenomena of change and continuity in Iberian onomastics with regard to both the structure and composition systems of names, trends and fashions in the choice of names, and the evolution of the naming formula throughout history.
